RECENTLY AWARDED CONTRACTS HAVE RMI ON DECK WITH RESONANT BEAM TECHNOLOGY FOR RUBBLIZATION AND PAVEMENT BREAKING WORLDWIDE.
Maine 2008 & 2009– RMI was employed to rubblize 235,000 square yards and break for removal another 18,000 yards for Pike Industries on I- 295 for the Maine DOT in 2008. This was a fast track, multiple machine project with 2 full RMI crews on site. The rubblizing was completed in a total of 11 days. The project was a rubblization rehabilitation with HMA overlay. Following the huge success in 2008, in 2009 RMI was awarded another contract with Pike Industries for 240,000 square yards requiring 3 machines, and RMI completed the entire project in 13 days. RMI was the sole spec for this project due to our resonant process and production rates and past success. The project started June 18th, 2009 and ended June 30th, 3 machines, 246,000 square yards rubblizeed and overlayed.
Alabama 2008 - RMI was awarded a contract for another fast track project on I 65 in Montgomery Alabama with Brassfield – Gorrie Construction. This project was completed in 2 phases, over 2 separate weekends with a total of 80,000 square yards rubblized, with 24 hour shifts and multiple machines and crews involved to complete the project on time. The project was highlighted (follow the link) in Construction Equipment Guide.

Louisiana 2008-09 – RMI Resonant Machines continues its long tradition of work in Louisiana. Ongoing projects with Gilchrist Construction Company on I-10, as well as Madden Construction on I-20 again in 2009, and an ongoing large project with Diamond B Construction on I-55 with over 200,000 square yards finishes in the Spring of 2009. RMI is set to pick back up on I 20, I 55, And Route 61 in 2009 with 3 and possibly 4 more rubblization projects through the Louisiana DOT.

Canada 2008- RMI rubblized Highway 58 in Ontario, right along Niagra Falls for Rankin Construction. A Feature Article was done on this high profile project. Follow the link below to read about RMI's success from the Ministry of Transportation in Canada. RMI is doing 2 projects in Canada in 2009.
http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/transtek/roadtalk/rt15-1/#a1Virginia 2008 - RMI Resonant Machines is a subcontractor for the joint venture project for breaking pavement for removal on a major highway, with all steel de-bonded, in conjunction with Corman Construction and Kiewit Companies in Virginia. RMI’s machines are capable of breaking concrete for removal with 90% steel de-bonding with particle sizes less than 9” at the base, as required on this large project, encompassing almost 300,000 square yards, and was completed in 2008.
Michigan 2008 - RMI was awarded a large rubblization and breaking contract in March of 2008 for 270,000 square yards of rubblization and 90,000 square yards of pavement breaking for Fisher Contracting Company on US-10 in Midland County. Work on this multi year project continues in 2009.
Colorado 2009 - RMI is conjunction with Aggregate Industries out of Loveland Colorado have been awarded from CDOT the I-25 rubblization project, with over 100,000 square yards of rubblization, on a fast track project that requires night operations. The surface is to be rubblized, overlayed with the initial HMA lift and opned back up to traffic the same day. This project begins in July of 2009.
Texas 2009- RMI has numerous pavement breaking and rubblizing jobs in the State of Texas in 2009, and is currently on slate for a large design build project in the Houston Metro area, where resonant beam technology for pavement breaking is needed due to our ability to break 8” -10” thick pavement for removal into small particle sizes, with 90% steel de-bonding without disruption to underground utilities.
In 2009 RMI was awarded the Loop 12 project through Zachry Construction and Mario Sinacola to break pcc pavement for removal of over 200,000 square yards because of our ability to deliver 6” to 10” particle size for removal. Also ongoing is a large removal project with Texas Sterling Construction on US 75 in Collin County. RMI will also be rubblizing US 75 with Austin Bridge and Road in 2009, as well as I-35 in Hill County with WW Webber.
Costa Rica 2009 – In February of 2009 RMI rubblized a large section of Highway 27 in San Jose Costa Rica for a road rehabilitation project with Constructors San Jose Caldera . There will be on-going projects throughout the year in 2009 in Costa Rica for rubblization with HMA overlays for road rehab projects that RMI will be involved with.
Chile 2005-09 - RMI did a rubblization project in 2005 and 2006 in Chile on Route 78. The Rehabilitation Route 60-Ch, Sector Andes - Tunnel Redeeming Christ, for Tracts, Andes, V Region is slated for more work in Chile in July 2009 in the same sector for a large scale break and remove. RMI has a machine located in Chile, and also has a resident consulting engineer in South America, and mobilizes crews into the country on an as needed basis.
Russia 2009 - RMI Resonant Machines has a strong presence in Russia, Belarus, and the Ukraine, having rubblized nearly 2 million square meters since 2004. Once again RMI’s services are called for in Eastern Europe in 2008, with over 1,000,000 square meters to be rubblized for HMA overlay in Russia and Belarus. In 2009 another 500,000+ square yards is being rubblized with HMA overlay in central Russia.
China 2009 - Currently has a 280,000 square meter job on-going in China in 2008, with 2 other large projects currently in design. RMI has 4 machines currently in China. There are on-going operations in China in 2009.

Crushing productivity
RMI - Resonant Machines says that its redesigned RB-600 concrete pulverising machine offers higher productivity and performance than the RB-500 model it replaces. According to John Mueller, the firm's president, the RB-600 has been completely redesigned and is equipped with a powerful Caterpillar C15 diesel rated at 373kW that helps increase productivity. The beam unit that is used to break the concrete is now larger than before at 660mm and operates at a breaking frequency of 44Hz with an amplitude of 12.7-19mm.
Increased concrete breaking performance is claimed for the upgraded RB-600 from Resonant Machines
The machine benefits from a new and more efficient filtration system, an integrated infra-red camera to monitor the working area and sophisticated electronic controls that help monitor and optimise performance. Mueller added that these improvements and other upgrades ensure that the new RB-600 is more productive and cost-effective for the user than the successful and well-proven RB-500.
Using resonant beam technology, can break a concrete road or runway surface into uniform particle sizes measuring a few centimetres. The machine is also able to de-bond rebar and wire mesh to provide a consistent base for an overlay or for easier removal. Highly productive, the RB-600 is able to break up areas of concrete efficiently and can handle up to 13,400m2 in a single working shift.
It can also be used to break concrete decks up to 660mm thick, although it normally handles surfaces 200-254mm thick. Using the machine provides a ready supply of quality crushed material that can be re-used in road construction applications. The earlier version of the concrete pulverising machine has been proven in a wide array of working applications on numerous road projects in various countries but this new version is said to be more productive and powerful.
